The YDC BMW Classic Design Shifter — Carbon Style is an adjustable BMW short shifter designed for shorter, more precise, and more mechanical gear changes. It features a carbon fiber tube fitted over a machined aluminum core, adjustable shift throw, and rigid mounting plate options for different BMW chassis
Mechanically, this version is identical to the standard YDC BMW Classic Design Shifter. The difference is the lever finish: a carbon fiber tube is fitted over the machined aluminum core
Designed for BMW manual gearbox applications in standard configuration, it can also be used with other transmissions that have a similar shifting mechanism and do not require reverse lockout inside the shifter

The shift knob is removable and can be replaced with your own knob or one of our optional knobs. Thread size: M12x1.75
Installation is straightforward and does not require advanced experience or expensive tools
For the best result, we recommend using this shifter together with the YDC BMW Shift Rod for a more precise and direct shifting feel. The shifter can also be installed with the OEM selector rod if it is in good condition
Please note that the YDC BMW Shift Rod is compatible only withthe standard 22mm BMW shift rod joint
A brand-new OEM BMW 22mm shift rod joint 25117580281 is available as an option and is recommended if your existing joint is worn or not compatible

This shifter is designed for vehicles equipped with BMW manual gearboxes or similar BMW-style manual shifting mechanisms
Common BMW chassis applications include: E30, E34, E36, E39, E46, E60, E61, E81, E82, E87, E88, E90, E91, E92, E93, F20, F21, F22, F30, F31, F32, F36, F80, F82, F87, G20, G21, G80, G82, G87 and other vehicles with compatible BMW manual gearbox setups
For non-BMW chassis, the shifter can be installed using the universal mounting plate option
