The YDC BMW Shift Rod V3 is a made-to-length steel DSSR built to suit your gearbox and shifter setup. We set the required mounting length and fork angle, then weld the rod before shipping — providing a finished, fixed-length linkage without the need for cutting or welding during installation
Its rigid steel dual-shear construction helps reduce unwanted movement in the linkage for a more direct and precise shifting feel
Designed for BMW manual gearboxes using a compatible 22 mm selector rod joint, it works with OEM shifter assemblies, YDC shifters, and many other aftermarket shifters

How to order:
Enter the required center-to-center mounting length in millimeters in the order comment. This is the distance between the centers of the two mounting holes, not the overall outside length of the rod
Please also include your BMW model, gearbox, and shifter, and mention any engine swap, gearbox conversion, or change to the shifter mounting position
If your installation requires the forks to be rotated relative to each other, provide the required angle or contact us with photos or a drawing
Length alone does not define the complete geometry of the rod

Made-to-length construction:
The V3 is supplied as a finished, fixed-length rod. Its length and fork angle cannot be adjusted after welding
This makes it suitable when the required linkage geometry is already known and you want a finished rod made to those dimensions

Choosing the correct length:
Original BMW selector rod dimensions can be used as a starting point, but an aftermarket shifter, different selector joint, or modified gearbox position may change the required length
Do not choose the length by chassis name alone. Measure your actual installation or contact us before the rod is made
For chassis-mounted shifters and custom builds, check the mounting distance and fork alignment with the gearbox and shifter positioned correctly in neutral
Compatibility:
Designed for BMW manual gearboxes equipped with a compatible 22 mm selector rod joint
Compatible with YDC shifters, OEM shifter assemblies, and many aftermarket shifters, provided the mounting dimensions, linkage geometry, and available clearance are suitable
Some gearbox configurations use a wider selector rod joint. These require a suitable 22 mm replacement joint compatible with the gearbox
