The YDC BMW Shift Rod V2 is an adjustable steel DSSR designed to make fitting and fine-tuning your shift linkage easier. Its telescopic construction allows independent adjustment of the mounting length and the angle between the forks, helping you achieve the correct alignment for your setup
Designed for BMW manual gearboxes using a compatible 22 mm selector rod joint, it works with OEM shifter assemblies, YDC shifters, and many other aftermarket shifters
Features:
• Continuously adjustable length — set the required center-to-center distance without being limited to fixed mounting holes • Adjustable fork angle — rotate the two sections relative to each other to match the alignment of your gearbox joint and shifter • Fine-tuning directly on the car — with sufficient access to the clamp, you can adjust the rod while installed, without removing the complete linkage • Clamp-locking design secures the selected length and angle once adjustment is complete • No cutting or welding required when using the correct adjustment range • Rigid steel dual-shear construction helps reduce unwanted movement in the linkage for a more direct and precise shifting feel • Adjustment washers in different thicknesses help achieve the correct fit with compatible OEM and aftermarket shifters • Readjustable design — change the length and fork angle again if your setup changes, within the rod’s adjustment range • Multiple adjustment ranges and custom sizing for standard and modified installations
Adjustment:
Loosen the clamp, slide the telescopic sections to set the required length, and rotate them to align the forks. Once the linkage is correctly positioned, tighten the clamp to secure both settings
Length and fork angle can be adjusted independently, allowing you to fine-tune the linkage without cutting or rewelding the rod
Adjustments can be made with the rod installed, provided there is sufficient access to the clamp. This is particularly useful when installing an aftermarket shifter or adapting the linkage after an engine or gearbox swap
Keep the rod within its specified adjustment range and check clearance and gear engagement throughout the full shift pattern after adjustment
Choosing the correct size:
Select the adjustment range that includes your required center-to-center mounting length, preferably with some adjustment available in both directions. All lengths are measured between the centers of the mounting holes, not along the outside of the rod
Custom length:
Select Custom and enter the required center-to-center mounting length in millimeters in the order comment. We will make the rod to suit that dimension, with additional adjustment available for final fitting. The exact adjustment range will depend on the requested length and the construction of the rod
For custom installations, please include details of your gearbox, shifter, and any changes to their mounting positions

These values are for reference only. YDC does not guarantee that they match every vehicle or installation. The required length may vary with the gearbox, selector joint, shifter, and mounting position
An aftermarket or chassis-mounted shifter may require a different rod length from the original assembly. Always measure your actual setup before ordering
Compatibility:
Designed for BMW manual gearboxes equipped with a compatible 22 mm selector rod joint
Compatible with YDC shifters, OEM shifter assemblies, and many aftermarket shifters, provided the mounting dimensions, required length, and available clearance are suitable
BMW xDrive models: please contact us before ordering, as the transfer case and surrounding components may affect clearance. The xi entries in the reference guide indicate stock rod lengths only and do not confirm YDC fitment
Some gearbox configurations use a wider selector rod joint. These require a suitable 22 mm replacement joint compatible with the gearbox
For engine swaps, relocated shifters, and other custom installations, select the rod by the actual mounting dimensions of your setup rather than the chassis model alone
