The YDC BMW Classic Design Shifter combines a simple, understated design with adjustable shift throw and a direct, mechanical shifting feel. Lightweight aluminum construction, multiple lever and finish options, and a choice of mounting plates let you configure it to suit your car and driving preferences
Designed for BMW manual gearbox applications, it can also be used with other transmissions that have a compatible shifting mechanism and do not require a reverse lockout mechanism inside the shifter

Shift rod options:
The shifter can be used with a compatible OEM selector rod in good condition. For a rigid dual-shear linkage, we recommend adding a YDC BMW Shift Rod matched to your installation
Choose from four versions:
• V1 — Cut-to-Length: select the required mounting hole and cut off the unused section. No welding required • V2 — Adjustable: adjust the mounting length and fork angle, then secure them with the clamp. Can be fine-tuned on the car where access allows • V3 — Made-to-Length: made and welded by YDC to your agreed mounting length and fork angle. Supplied as a finished, fixed-length rod • V4 — DIY Cut & Weld: prepare, align, and weld the rod to suit your setup. Includes two 200 mm tubes, with free shortening before shipping available on request

An aftermarket shifter or a change in its mounting position may require a different rod length from the original assembly. If you are unsure which version or size to choose, contact us before ordering
Optional BMW OEM selector joint:
YDC BMW Shift Rods require a compatible 22 mm BMW selector rod joint
Options marked “+ OEM joint” include a new genuine BMW 22 mm selector rod joint, part number 25117580281. This is recommended if your existing joint is worn, or if a compatible replacement is needed for the selected YDC rod
The 22 mm joint requirement applies to the YDC shift rods, not to every possible OEM rod installation with this shifter
Compatibility:
Designed for vehicles equipped with compatible BMW manual gearboxes or other transmissions with a similar rod-operated shifting mechanism that does not require reverse lockout inside the shifter
Potential BMW chassis applications include:
E30, E34, E36, E39, E46, E60, E61, E81, E82, E87, E88, E90, E91, E92, E93, F20, F21, F22, F30, F31, F32, F36, F80, F82, F87, G20, G21, G80, G82, and G87, when equipped with a compatible manual gearbox setup
Chassis designation alone does not guarantee fitment. The gearbox, mounting plate, selector rod, and available clearance must match the installation
