Our interpretation of the short-throw shifter for VAG family cars.
Compatible with VW, Audi, Skoda, and Seat equipped with 5 and 6-speed 02J, 02M, 02Q, 02A (MQ200, MQ250, MQ350) gearboxes, with rear gear located to the left of first gear. Contact us to clarify additional questions regarding compatibility with your car.
The rear speed limiter is implemented by a spring-loaded mechanism, which feels similar to the factory BMW limiter mechanism. The rear gear is engaged with the application of force to the left relative to the first WITHOUT moving down. This decision allowed us to preserve the style of YDC shifters and make the price of the product more attractive. From a practical point of view, this mechanism showed itself from the best side and for thousands of kilometers there were no problems, only positive sensations from shifting.
Adjustable in both directions, the shifting stroke, which with the basic settings is shorter than stock;
pendulum mechanism with a self-centering spring;
two size options: 32cm or 36cm (from the tunnel to the end of the handle. The size of the OEM is approximately 28cm);
construction on bearings (absence of backlash);
aluminum lever, knob, box and some other elements (light weight);
compatible with the stock gearbox, cables and shift mechanism located on the gearbox;
absolutely bolt-on regarding the tunnel and interior plastic (installation without cutting, drilling);
lifetime warranty as with all other YDC products.
Complete with everything necessary for installation: hardware and a plate for certain chassis.
If necessary, it is possible to replace the knob with your own - in the shifter of this version, it is removable (thread M12x1.75).
For the correct shifting, it must be correctly adjusted. From under the hood, the position of the cables must be adjusted so that all speeds are switched on smoothly, and most importantly - symmetrically relative to the neutral speed in both directions (set the central position with the adjustment). In addition to the cables, the rear limiter mechanism needs to be adjusted. When the first speed is turned on, the lever of the mechanism should touch the bushing under the lower hinged head. Thus, to turn on the rear, you need to press the spring-loaded lever.
