This chassis-specific version of YDC Compact is designed for bolt-on installation in BMW 1 Series E8X and BMW 3 Series E9X models without cutting, drilling or welding the metal transmission tunnel
The supplied E8X/E9X-specific mounting plate uses existing factory mounting points, allowing the handbrake to be installed without permanent modification of the metal transmission tunnel
This configuration was developed for clean integration into the original interior. Some trimming of the factory plastic trim is required to create clearance for the handbrake and removable lever, but the center console remains installed and the visible interior can be kept as close to its factory appearance as possible
The idea is simple: during everyday use, the handbrake remains almost completely hidden inside the center console. When needed, the removable lever can be installed in just a few moments, providing a fully functional hydraulic handbrake for drift, track or motorsport use. After driving, the lever can be removed again, making the installation much less visible inside the vehicle

The standard mounting configuration is designed for use with the factory BMW shifter. For vehicles equipped with a YDC shifter, an optional integrated mounting plate is available, creating one rigid bolt-on assembly for both the shifter and hydraulic handbrake

Some trimming of the factory plastic trim is required to provide clearance for the handbrake and removable lever. The exact amount may depend on the model year, center-console configuration, optional interior equipment, carpet, seats, shifter position and other interior components
Final fitment may also be affected by previous transmission-tunnel modifications, engine or gearbox swaps, aftermarket shifters and hydraulic line routing. Additional fitting may be required for non-standard or heavily modified vehicles
