This chassis-specific version of YDC Compact is designed for bolt-on installation in all BMW E46 body styles without cutting, drilling or welding the metal transmission tunnel
The latest version is fully compatible with the factory power-window switches and retains the original cigarette-lighter cover and opening mechanism, providing an almost complete OEM appearance and functionality
The supplied E46-specific mounting plate uses existing factory mounting points, allowing the handbrake to be installed without permanent modification of the metal transmission tunnel
This configuration was developed for clean integration into the original interior while preserving the factory plastic trim and interior functions as much as possible
The idea is simple: during everyday use, the handbrake remains almost completely hidden inside the center console. When needed, the removable lever can be installed in just a few moments, providing a fully functional hydraulic handbrake for drift, track or motorsport use. After driving, the lever can be removed again, returning the interior to a clean and almost factory appearance

No cutting, drilling or welding of the metal transmission tunnel is required
Some trimming of the factory plastic trim is required during installation. Most modifications are made from the inside, allowing the visible interior to remain as close to its original appearance as possible
The standard mounting configuration is designed for use with the factory BMW shifter. For vehicles equipped with a YDC shifter, an optional integrated mounting plate is available, creating one rigid bolt-on assembly for both the shifter and hydraulic handbrake
