This kit is designed to make the installation of YDC BMW shifters easier, cleaner and faster
Instead of using the universal mounting kit, this car-specific mounting plate allows the shifter to be installed using the factory mounting holes in the transmission tunnel. In most listed BMW chassis, no drilling or cutting of the tunnel metal is required
Every YDC BMW base shifter includes a universal installation kit, unless a bolt-on mounting plate is already included with the product or selected as an option. This mounting plate kit is an optional upgrade that replaces the universal installation kit with a chassis-specific bolt-on solution
Each kit is designed individually for the selected chassis.We also offer custom mounting plate solutions for cars that are not listed or for special installation requirements
The kit includes:
Top mounting plate
Lower tunnel clamping plate
Protective dust cover, if required for the selected shifter version
Required hardware for installation
YDC BMW shifters are also compatible with some non-BMW transmissions that use a similar shifting mechanism, including certain Honda transmissions. Please contact us before ordering if you want to use a YDC BMW shifter in a non-BMW chassis
For Honda applications, installation may require cutting the factory tunnel edge and drilling 4 mounting holes. The Honda kit includes only the required washer set for connecting the factory shift rod, all other parts are included with the basic YDC BMW shifter kit. Honda kit will cost 10$ for every shifter version!
Mounting kits for some other chassis may also be possible, but cars such as Nissan 350Z, 370Z, Toyota GT86, GR86 and certain Audi models require a reverse lockout shifter version, which is still in development and is not available yet
