IronBox BMW Classic Short Shifter — OEM Gear Knob Fitment

The IronBox BMW Classic Short Shifter is designed for BMW manual gearboxes and retains the original push-on BMW gear-knob interface while providing a shorter, more precise and mechanical shifting feel

The shifter replaces the factory mechanism, maintains an OEM-like lever height and allows the shift throw to be adjusted from near-stock to very short

Its lightweight aluminum construction, play-free spherical bearing and bronze selector-rod bushing provide precise movement and reliable operation

Optional YDC rigid bolt-on mounting plates are available for chassis-specific installation

The YDC BMW Shift Rod V1 is fully compatible with this shifter and provides a stronger and more direct connection to BMW manual gearboxes equipped with a standard 22mm shift rod joint

• BMW OEM-fit push-on shift knob unless an optional knob is selected
• The YDC BMW Shift Rod requires a standard 22mm BMW shift rod joint
• Some BMW gearboxes, particularly certain diesel applications, may use a wider joint that must be replaced with a compatible 22mm version

Set the required shift throw and verify the shifter position before final tightening

Check complete engagement of every forward gear and reverse before operating the vehicle

When using the YDC BMW Shift Rod V1, confirm the required center-to-center length before shortening the rod

When ordering a YDC rigid bolt-on mounting plate, select the correct chassis and indicate whether a chassis-specific YDC Compact handbrake is installed or planned

For engine swaps, non-standard gearbox positions, xDrive vehicles or custom transmission tunnels, confirm the installation dimensions before ordering
