This IronBox weld-in backing plate is designed for creating a reinforced 7/16-inch eye-bolt mounting point for a motorsport safety harness

The plate is welded to the steel vehicle body around its perimeter, helping distribute the load from the harness anchorage across a larger section of the surrounding body panel

According to IronBox, the plate is manufactured in accordance with the relevant Appendix J mounting requirements

The complete harness installation must still comply with the current regulations of the applicable motorsport organisation and the instructions supplied by the harness manufacturer

Only eye bolts specifically designed for motorsport harness installation may be used

Generic lifting eye bolts or fasteners with an unconfirmed thread and strength rating must not be used

The plate must be positioned on a structurally suitable section of the vehicle body and welded continuously around its perimeter

Harness routing, mounting angles, anchorage positions and fastener specifications must follow the instructions supplied by the harness manufacturer

All installation work must comply with the current regulations of the motorsport series in which the vehicle will participate
