These IronBox weld-in reinforcement plates are designed to strengthen the rear shock mounting points of BMW E30, E36 and E46 chassis
The rear shock towers are a known high-load area that can develop cracks or deformation after years of use, hard driving or installation of stiffer suspension components
Reinforcement is particularly important when converting to true rear coilovers because the spring load is transferred to the shock tower instead of remaining on the original separate spring mounting point

⠀ Important installation information ⠀ These are weld-in reinforcement plates and are not intended as removable bolt-on spacers Remove the rear dampers or coilovers before preparing and welding the shock towers
Inspect both rear shock towers for cracks, deformation, corrosion and previous repairs before installation
Any existing structural damage must be correctly repaired before installing the reinforcement plates
Test-fit the plates and rear shock mounts before welding
Welding and body preparation must be performed by a qualified fabrication or body-repair specialist
After welding, protect all bare metal and welded areas against corrosion
When using true rear coilovers, verify that the complete rear chassis and shock towers are suitable for carrying the combined spring and damper loads
