The IronBox BMW E8x / E9x Complete Drift Lock Kit replaces the main front steering and suspension components to provide up to 65° of steering angle for competition drift applications

The usable steering angle depends on wheel offset, wheel and tyre dimensions, suspension setup, and available clearance around the wheel arches and chassis

The complete system combines dedicated steering knuckles, one-piece lower control arms, adjustable top mounts, caster brackets, steering components, and adjustable geometry features

• Up to 65° of steering angle — the maximum available lock depends on wheel offset and available wheel clearance
• Reduced Ackermann geometry — designed to improve stability and allow the vehicle to accelerate more predictably while maintaining a high steering angle
• Adjustable Ackermann — changed by rotating or replacing the eccentric washers at the steering tie-rod mounting points
• Adjustable steering stops — integrated into the steering knuckles to control the maximum usable angle
• Dedicated steering knuckles — CNC-manufactured components provide accurate suspension and steering mounting geometry
• One-piece lower control arms — manufactured from 20 mm steel plate for strength and rigidity
• Wide-range camber adjustment — offset adjustable top mounts provide an extended adjustment range
• Caster adjustment — dedicated brackets allow the front caster setting to be configured
• Motorsport spherical joints — selected for high suspension loads and competition use
• Coilover-specific configuration — the kit is designed exclusively for vehicles equipped with coilovers
• 45 mm coilover adapters included — supplied adapter sleeves are intended for coilovers with a 45 mm mounting diameter
• Front strut-tower reinforcement — weld-in reinforcement flanges are included to simplify top-mount installation and strengthen the strut-tower mounting areas
• Protected components — knuckles and control arms are powder coated, duralumin components are anodized, and selected steel components receive BLACKNITRIDE treatment

Fitment must be confirmed before ordering for BMW E82 1M, BMW E9x M3, xi or xDrive vehicles, cars with converted steering racks or front subframes, and vehicles using non-standard brakes, hubs, wheel bearings, ABS components, or coilovers

Compatibility of the installed brake calipers, brake discs, hubs, wheel bearings, ABS sensors, steering rack, anti-roll bar, and coilover bodies must be confirmed before ordering

Recommended initial alignment settings
⠀

• Front toe — 0
• Front camber — approximately −4° to −5°
• Front caster — approximately 5.5° to 6.5°

These are the settings recommended by IronBox as a starting point

The final alignment must be configured for the individual vehicle, wheel and tyre setup, ride height, available clearance, driver preference, and intended competition use

Important installation information

This product substantially changes the vehicle’s steering, suspension geometry, track width, and handling characteristics
⠀
The kit must be installed exclusively with suitable front coilovers
⠀
The weld-in strut-tower reinforcement flanges require professional welding
⠀
The front strut towers, front subframe, steering rack mounting points, wheel hubs, bearings, brakes, and surrounding chassis areas must be inspected before installation

Steering movement must be checked through the complete suspension travel and from lock to lock before driving
⠀
Brake hoses, ABS wiring, wheels, tyres, anti-roll-bar components, suspension springs, and chassis panels must not contact any moving component throughout the complete steering and suspension range

The adjustable steering stops must be configured to prevent mechanical binding or component contact

Every fastener and spherical joint must be checked regularly during motorsport use

Professional installation, corner weighting, wheel alignment, and track testing are required
